equivalent to Azithromycin anhydrous 1.0% w/w
Sterile Ointment base q.s.
Indication:
✔ Bacterial Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
✔ Blepharitis (Bacterial Eyelid Infection)
✔ Blepharoconjunctivitis
✔ External Ocular Bacterial Infections
✔ Prevention and treatment of bacterial infections as advised by an ophthalmologist.
Uses
Azirest™ Eye Ointment is commonly used for:
✔ Bacterial conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
✔ Bacterial infections of the eyelids (Blepharitis)
✔ Redness and irritation caused by bacterial infection
✔ Eye discharge and crusting due to infection
✔ Swelling and discomfort associated with bacterial eye infections
✔ Prevention of bacterial infection after minor eye procedures (as advised by an ophthalmologist)
Usual Dosage
Typical dosage is:
- Apply a small ribbon of ointment inside the affected eye(s)
- Usually 2–3 times daily or as directed by your eye doctor
- Complete the full course even if symptoms improve earlier
How to Use
- Wash your hands thoroughly.
- Tilt your head back.
- Gently pull down the lower eyelid.
- Apply a thin ribbon of ointment inside the lower eyelid.
- Close the eye gently for 1–2 minutes.
- Avoid touching the tube tip to the eye or any surface.
- Replace the cap tightly after use.
Possible Side Effects
Usually mild and temporary:
- Mild burning or stinging sensation
- Temporary blurred vision after application
- Eye irritation
- Watery eyes
- Mild redness
Consult an eye doctor if you experience:
- Severe eye pain
- Swelling of the eye or eyelids
- Allergic reaction
- Worsening redness or discharge
- Vision changes
