Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose & Glycerin Eye Drops

Composition:
CMC 0.5% w/v + Glycerin 0.5% w/v + SOC 0.01% w/v

Indication:
In relief of burning, irritation and discomfort due to dryness, Exposure to wind or Sun and long lasting Protection against Dry eyes.

CMC + Glycerin eye drops are lubricating/artificial tear drops used to keep the eyes moist and comfortable.
CMC = Carboxymethylcellulose and Glycerin both help reduce dryness and irritation.

Uses

These eye drops are commonly used for:

  • Dry eyes
  • Burning sensation in eyes
  • Eye irritation from:
    • Mobile/computer screen use
    • AC rooms
    • Dust, wind, sunlight
  • Mild redness due to dryness
  • Gritty or sandy feeling in eyes
  • Eye strain and discomfort after long study/screen time

They act like artificial tears and help lubricate the eye surface.

Usual Dosage

Typical dosage is:

  • 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s)
  • 3–4 times daily or as needed

Some people use it more often during heavy screen use or dry weather, but follow your doctor’s advice if prescribed.

How to Use

  1. Wash hands
  2. Tilt head back
  3. Pull lower eyelid gently
  4. Put 1 drop without touching bottle tip to eye
  5. Close eyes for 1–2 minutes

If using another eye medicine, wait 5–10 minutes between drops.

Possible Side Effects

Usually mild and temporary:

  • Mild burning/stinging
  • Blurred vision for a few minutes
  • Eye irritation
  • Redness or itching

See an eye doctor if you get:

  • Severe pain
  • Swelling
  • Vision changes
  • Symptoms lasting more than a few days

Important Tips

  • Remove contact lenses before use (unless doctor says otherwise)
  • Don’t touch the bottle tip
  • Discard bottle about 30 days after opening
  • Store in a cool, dry place
